Баскетбол - это спортивная командная игра с мячом. Цель каждой команды — забросить руками мяч в корзину соперника и помешать другой команде завладеть мячом и забросить его в свою корзину. Баскетбол входит в программу Олимпийских игр с 1936 года. Впервые игра похожая на баскетбол появилась в 1891 году в Америке. В начале XX века начали оформляться первые профессиональные баскетбольные команды.

The basketball is sports team game with a ball. The purpose of each team is to throw the ball with hands in the basket of the rival and to prevent other command to take control of the ball and to throw it in the basket. The basketball is included into the program of the Olympic Games since 1936. For the first time the game similar to basketball appeared in 1891 in America. At the beginning of the 20th century the first professional basketball teams have begun to be made out.
